What you stand for matters.
We make it clear.

The 138 Group is a strategic communications and business advisory. We help leaders create clarity for their companies, their mission and their stakeholders—saying it with credibility and momentum in the moments that shape reputation and drive decisions.

Belief isn’t just a message.
It’s three things working together.

  • Say it clearly.

Most messaging fails because it’s hedged, not because it’s wrong.

  • Prove it.

The gap between what you claim and what you do is the first thing anyone checks.

  • Measure it.

If it can’t be tracked, it can’t be defended.

They didn't want more marketing. They wanted to know where the network dropped. So we built the map. Consumer Reports rankings up within two quarters.

The situation

AT&T wanted better ways to connect with its customers. Peter led a team working with the company’s leadership in Dallas, starting with an in-depth look at what customers were worried about and where they wanted to hear from the company.

The answer was simple enough to have been missed. Customers were dealing with dropped calls, and they wanted AT&T to tell them where coverage was weak and when it would get better, on their phones, where they’d actually see it. Many said that alone would make them more likely to stay. In a business defined by churn, that mattered.

What we did

Working up to the most senior levels of the company, the team built an interactive tool. Customers entered a zip code and saw where the network was having problems and what AT&T was doing to fix them, from new tower infrastructure to Wi-Fi access. The team then launched it with social and digital campaigns.

What changed

Within months, AT&T’s Consumer Reports ranking improved, strengthening the brand and giving customers a more direct relationship with the company. The most common complaint had become an honest conversation.

The media playbook stopped working. Peter helped write it.

Peter Prodromou sold his first story to the Associated Press for two hundred dollars. Newsrooms, then radio. Supreme Court rulings and the wars of the 1980s. Three decades in technology through the internet boom. A communications group built, acquired across four continents, and run as CEO. Counsel to governments on economic development and policy. He has stood at every point in the chain that used to carry the truth.

Peter Prodromou

Peter Prodromou sold his first story to the Associated Press for two hundred dollars. Newsrooms followed, then radio: Supreme Court rulings and the wars of the 1980s.

Then three decades in technology, through the internet boom. He built Racepoint Global, backed it, and ran it as CEO across four continents. Alongside the agency work, he counseled governments on economic development and policy.

He has stood at every point in the chain that used to carry the truth. Then he left. Four years out of the industry, watching it come apart and writing about why. A Semblance of Truth is what he came back with.
